Attorney Shane Miller

Shane Miller earned his Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and a minor in Business. He then returned to his hometown of Des Moines, Iowa, where he graduated from the Drake University Law School with a certificate in Constitutional Law and Civil Rights.
Prior to joining the Knowles Law Firm, Mr. Miller spent more than 4 years as a Deputy County Attorney at the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. During his time as a prosecutor, Mr. Miller handled hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases and learned how to see a case through the eyes of a prosecutor. Mr. Miller has extensive experience in a vast array of criminal matters, ranging from civil traffic violations and DUIs to serious, complex felonies involving multiple codefendants.
Mr. Miller was promoted to a major crimes bureau, where for 2-plus years he specialized in complex cases including white collar, vulnerable adult financial abuse and document crimes in the Fraud and Identity Theft Enforcement bureau. As an experienced former prosecutor, Mr. Miller understands the law and the criminal justice system, including the rules the government must follow and the evidence it must present to overcome its significant burden of proof. Mr. Miller has extensive courtroom experience conducting jury trials, bench trials, hearings, and negotiating settlements short of trial.
Mr. Miller was also previously employed at a law firm specializing in personal injury law, where he fought on behalf of plaintiffs who were injured due to the wrongful actions of others. The many years Mr. Miller has spent working with victims of both criminal and civil matters have led him to become a skilled, aggressive and thorough advocate. Mr. Miller's greatest satisfaction is working hard on behalf of a client and attaining the best possible resolution in every case.
Before embarking on his legal career, Mr. Miller was an editor of America West Airlines in-flight magazine, where he polished his writing, researching and interviewing skills.
Mr. Miller is happily married and enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. His outgoing and competitive personality is evident through his participation in multiple organized sports leagues and golf.
